“Autumn Fires”
by Scottish poet Robert Louis Stevenson
In the other gardens
And all up the vale,
From the autumn bonfires
See the smoke trail!
Pleasant summer over
And all the summer flowers,
The red fire blazes,
The grey smoke towers.
Sing a song of seasons!
Something bright in all!
Flowers in the summer,
Fires in the fall!
Lovely!!
Thanks, Darlene. ☺
Lovely!
Thank you, Belinda. 😊
R.L. Stevenson is one of my favorites! Photos is perfect!
I rather enjoy him too! I’ll eventually be writing a piece on his life. My husband and I have stayed twice at the Pilrig House in Edinburgh, which was the home of his grandfather and uncle and where he visited as a child.
GOD has created a fascinating world for us, and to draw a vivid picture of those beautiful nature in descriptive mode – GOD has gifted the intelligence to us, and imagination captures the awesome event of nature in words and expressions. So did R.L.Stevenson with respect to the season of the surroundings which turn up at regular interval yearly. Amazing line “Sing a song for Season!” – a token of joy how pleasure we are by enjoying the beautiful events of nature!
And, Wendy’s imagination has clicked the nature in compatible with the intentions of R.L.Stevenson – bright and colorful picture! Had the picture captured from horizontal land to sky in between these colorful leaves, flowers and branches approaching the sky, it would have been more appealing, my sense take this note!
Thanks Wendy!
