So tomorrow happens to be my 2 year blogging anniversary. Hooray me!! To celebrate, I am trying a new Scotch cocktail recipe called a Full Scottish. It seems rather appropriate, actually, given the focus of my blog.
I found this recipe on The Glenlivet’s web site; however, I imagine it would be good with any other Speyside (or perhaps Highland) single malt of your choice. The Glenlivet recommends using their 15-year-old Scotch for this recipe. Mr. C says that’s an awfully good Scotch to use in a cocktail recipe, but I told him we’re going to do it anyway! It’s a sacrifice I must make. 🙂
Full Scottish Recipe
50 ml The Glenlivet 15-year-old
20 ml/4 tsp lemon juice
15 ml/3 tsp white/ruby port ( I used Sandeman Founder’s Reserve Ruby Port)
5 ml/1 tsp simple syrup
15 ml/3 tsp orange marmalade
Place all ingredients, except for the port, in a cocktail shaker. Add ice. Shake hard and strain into a whisky tumbler filled with ice. Gently pour in the port. Garnish with thin strips of orange or lemon zest. Yum!
Guys, I have had so much fun writing this blog over the last two years, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your interaction and support. Many of you really feel like friends, even though we have never actually met. I have plenty more Scotland to share with you and don’t plan to stop writing anytime soon. So cheers to two years and cheers to you!

Cheers to you too! Two for the roads lots travelled.
Thanks, Wendy, for your blogging wit, wisdom, perseverance, and pretty pictures.
I think I’ll stick to Full Scottish as a breakfast with orange marmalade on my toast. Give me the Glenlivit neat please.
Thanks, Cristine! I’m really glad we have connected on here. It’s wonderful to have a friend that shares my faith and my love for Scotland. And actually, I prefer my Glenlivet neat as well. 🙂
Sounds amazing. But Allen will not donate his whiskey. I may have to try it next time we see You.
Honestly it does seem a shame to use such a fine whisky in a cocktail. Monkey Shoulder would be a good choice. We’ll have to make it for you someday. 🙂
Cheers, and congratulations!
Many thanks, Lindy. 🙂
Happy Blogiversary, Wendy! (We have nearly the same date, my 6th was 2 days ago.) I love your blog and seeing the places you visit and all things Scottish. I think my favorite post was the story of you going to High Tea. So much fun! 🙂
Happy Blogiversary to you as well! I missed that you just celebrated six years – I’m heading to your site next to read your post. I’m so glad you enjoy reading about Scotland. It’s such a niche subject and I am thankful for those of you that are interested. I wish we could enjoy a cup of tea together. 🙂
Thank you, Wendy! If you ever come to western MA, you must let me know and we’ll have that cup of tea. 🙂
Congrats to you dear!
Keep on blogging, it’s so inspiring!
Thank you very much, Reni. I’m so glad you are part of my community. 🙂

I agree! 😄
Congratulations! Am raising a virtual glass to you in spirit 😊
Thank you, Luffy! I am glad we have met up on here. I am enjoying following your adventures toward crofting.
Thank you! More from the croft once we get back up there in a few weeks time 👍
Congrats and cheers. And may you long keep posting. ❤️
Thank you, Shazza. I hope you do too!
