Hello, sweet friends.
Like you, I am trying to navigate this new world we’re in. In the blink of an eye, everything has changed. Because of that, I am really struggling to blog as usual. With so much fear, uncertainty, and heartache around the world, somehow writing about whisky and castles doesn’t seem fitting right now. In light of that, I have decided to take a little break from my usual topics and do something different.
This online community is so important to me, and I don’t want to lose my connection to you. So, aside from my weekly participation in the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge, every day for the next thirty days, I am simply going to post some of my favorite photos with words of encouragement instead. I think we could all use a heap of that right now.
We live in an extraordinary time. Though we may be temporarily cut off from one another physically, we have the miracle of technology to keep us bound together. It really is a small world, after all!
Please, everyone, take care of yourself. Wash those hands, stay home when you can, and practice social distancing. We are in trying times, but we will prevail. We’ll get through this together, friends.

xo,

Thanks for the kind words.
You are so welcome. I think we could all use some of those right now. Take care of yourself.
Thank you Wendy. Stay strong and we will get through this π
Hope you are feeling better. You made the right decision to get your surgery when you did. Just in the nick of time! Be well.
Thank you! I think that youβre right. The hospitals have now cancelled all non emergency operations… π
Yes, ours have all done the same. Even my husband’s routine eye exam scheduled for Monday has been cancelled.
I agree, Wendy, it’s hard to focus and keep blogging but we do have to keep our minds on other things, things we love, and keep doing what we can to keep ourselves and our friends, family and neighbors safe and healthy. Encouragement is always good, so I’ll look forward to your words.
You are very right. Familiarity and routine are the things that will keep us sane. Stay safe and healthy.
Perfect! We have much to be thankful for, warm comfortable houses which make staying in OK, food in our cupboards and our blogging friends, to name a few.
We certainly do! The confinement part doesn’t bother me much, as I am a bit of a homebody-hermit anyway. You are right, we have much to be thankful for.
Well said Wendy. We need to encourage and support one another, and look at the positive. I also enjoy hearing how others are working through this.
And that is a wonderful quote! Faith can get us through this! π€πππ»
I’m more thankful than ever for this online community. Keep safe and well.

It’s definitely a challenging time. I’m continuing also. I’ll still put up blogs about writing and travelling, but I do have my own crisis post coming up. I’m trying to use humour – after all, it’s what I’m seeing around me even as people struggle with the changes. It’s sunrise here now, I woke up, turned on the radio and said to my husband, “Let’s see what fresh hells have been unleashed on us overnight.” Then the radio DJ asked (as he does at 6.30 am every Saturday) for people to ring in to promote events they have on today. Nobody rang. So I did – to promote a writing competition that people can do from home.
I feel uplifted already.
Yesterday there were wry jokes about lack of toilet paper on the radio – it defused the panic over “What will we do?” and made us laugh despite ourselves.
Let’s keep on writing. keep on doing. Keep on living.
This too shall pass.
I like your approach. They do say laughter is the best medicine. You are right, this too shall pass. Stay well.
this is a wonderful idea Wendy!
Thanks, Pam. Stay safe and healthy. π
You too! Some of us may need stories of whiskey and castles. ALL the good stuff doesnβt need to stop π
Love it Wendy. Thank you!
